Research

I work within the Detector Group of the Particle Physics Group of the School of Physics and Astronomy of Glasgow University.

The laboratory is involved in several research and development projects both within the STFC remit and outwith.

I am interested in

• Pixel detector modules for the ATLAS Pixel upgrade.
• Mechanics for the Stave ATLAS upgrade, concentrating on the understanding of thermal characteristics of materials used in the stave build.
• Strip-tracker modules and sensors for the ATLAS strip tracker upgrade
• The SCT evaporative cooling project, working with the EN/CV detector cooling section at CERN
• Radiation hard detectors, espically 3D detectors, working on these within the RD50 collaboration and ATLAS 3D sensor collaboration
• CMOS (APS) sensors for particle physics and synchrotron sources, working with the Detectors group of the Diamond light source
